Magic Crochet Ring – how to make

It took me a while to get my head around making a magic circle when crocheting a flower (see https://mrsmmakes.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/crochet-flowers/).
This is a good step by step explanation.

A magic ring is a great way to start a crochet round as it allows you to adjust the size of the central hole. It’s often used when making amigurumi creatures as the hole in the middle can be tightly shut.

1. Firstly loop the yarn twice around your finger so that the ball of yarn is to the palm of your hand and yarn tail closest to your finger tip.
